The patented Basil Hinge allows for easy canopy adjustment without the need for complex mechanisms. To adjust, hold the upper pole firmly before unlocking the hinge. Turn the dial anti-clockwise as far as possible to unlock it. Once the hinge is unlocked, the upper pole can be rotated to the desired angle, with a recommended maximum tilt of 45 degrees. It is best to angle the umbrella into the wind to minimize the risk of it lifting. To lock the hinge, turn the dial clockwise until the vertical grip is parallel to the lower pole. The hinge should lock and unlock smoothly. If it feels jammed, forcing it closed may cause damage.
